1.00 What is "Joey," and when can I see it?

Joey is a spin-off show, based on the character of Joey Tribbiani of Friends. Although Friends (and Joey's character) was created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane, Joey (the show) was created by Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Scott Silveri, two of the other writers / producers of Friends. Joey airs on NBC, Thursdays at 8:00 PM Eastern/Pacific, 7:00 PM Mountain/Central.

1.01 Where can I get copies of episodes on Video or DVD?

In the UK and Europe, Joey Season 1 is available on DVD.
Click the image for details.

I suspect that this means Joey will also be available in many other non-USA locations.

However, so far I have no word on a US release date. Typically studios wait longer to release shows on DVD in the US, athough that delay is getting shorter all the time.

I suspect we may see them in the US this fall.

1.02 About attending tapings

Tickets for television shows are typically free. The only catch is that tickets for popular show are usually "sold out" many months in advance.

The company that handled tickets for Joey is "Audiences Unlimited." They have a helpful Web Site at http://tvtickets.com. The specific link to "Joey" is http://tvtickets.com/FMPro?-DB=Web+Site+Shows&-Format=showdetail.htm&-lay=Form+View&show=joey&-Max=1&-Find

You can also call Audiences Unlimited (818) 506-0067.

1.06 Where can I get information about character's furniture, clothes, set pieces, decorations, paint colors, etc.?

I don't have much of this type of information. But you could try writing to the people on the show who are in charge of such things. Get the name of a crew member from the show's credits, and then tack on the Joey address at WB. For example:

To write to the Costume Supervisors:

Julie Heath & Nancy Gould
c/o Joey
Warner Bros. Studio
4000 Warner Blvd.
Building 187
Burbank, CA 91522

To write to the Set Decorator:

Greg Grande
c/o Joey
Warner Bros. Studio
4000 Warner Blvd.
Building 187
Burbank, CA 91522

To write to the Property Master (in charge of props):

Leslie Beattie
c/o Joey
Warner Bros. Studio
4000 Warner Blvd.
Building 187
Burbank, CA 91522

2.0 Character/Actor Information

2.01 About the Main Characters

Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani.
Drea de Matteo as Gina Tribbiani.
Paulo Costanzo as Michael Tribbiani.
Andrea Anders as Alex Garrett.
Jennifer Coolidge as Bobbie Morgenstern.
Miguel A. Nuņez, Jr. as Zach.

Joey (Joseph) Francis Tribbiani:
For Joey's history in 'Friends,' see Friends FAQ. Joey moved to L.A. and after a series of bad gigs, got a big break playing Captain Jeremiah Powder in a sexy prime-time show, set in the mountains, called "Deep Powder." Later his character gets killed off and soon he gets a major roll in a major movie.

Gina Tribbiani:
Gina is one of Joey's sisters. She had a son at age 16, who is now 20. In true Hollywood fashion, she had her breasts surgically enhanced, by 3 cup sizes.

Michael Tribbiani:
Joey's nephew; Gina's son. Michael is a rocket scientist (seriously). He wanted to move out of his Mom's house but didn't have money for rent, so when Joey moved to California, Michael moved in with him.

Alex (Alexis) Julia Garrett:
A cute blond neighbor in whom Joey takes some interest. She is a corporate lawyer, and turns out to be married.

Bobbie Morgenstern:
Joey's new talent agent. Her attitude towards Joey's career is a bit of a bi-polar combination of fatalism and fierce loyalty. "There is nothing that I wouldn't do for you! I'd throw on a meat skirt and wrestle a lion! I'd pull off my own ears and eat them!" "I got nothin'!"

Zach:
An extra who played a severed head in Joey's last episode of "Deep Powder," and who became Joey's new friend. This character was introduced to "Joey" (the show, and the character) at the beginning of Season 2.

2.03 How do I write to the cast?

I'm not sure the best way to write to the Joey cast. But I suspect that you could still write to them the same way as you wrote to the Friends cast:

Try the following:

Cast member's name
c/o Studio Fan Mail
1122 S. Robertson
Los Angeles, CA 90035

Return to Questions

2.04 How do I write to the writers/producers?

This is my best guess so far:

To write to the show's office in general:

Joey
Warner Bros. Studio
4000 Warner Blvd.
Building 187
Burbank, CA 91522

If you want to write to a specific writer / producer / staff member, add that person's name and "c/o" (care of):

(person's name)
c/o Joey
Warner Bros. Studio
4000 Warner Blvd.
Building 187
Burbank, CA 91522

3.0 Plot Questions

3.01 What happened to Chick Jr and Duck Jr?

Chick Jr and Duck Jr were Joey's housewarming gift to Chandler and Monica, at the end of "Friends." Chandler told Joey to keep them at his place. Once Joey moved to California, he must have made some other arrangements for Chick Jr and Duck Jr, but the details have not been revealed.
